Cogsdale Welcomes 2 New Utility Customers In Massachusetts Nov 10, 2009 Charlottetown, PE - Cogsdale is pleased to announce the recent contract signings of Belmont Municipal Light Department and Braintree Electric Light Department, both in Massachusetts. Cogsdale is pleased to begin working with these organizations and expand the customer community in the state of Massachusetts to six utilities. Belmont Municipal Light Department is a municipal electric utility that provides power to the Town of Belmont serving over 11,000 customers. Belmont Municipal Light Department will be implementing Cogsdale’s fully integrated enterprise resource planning system, including: financial, people, work, asset, and customer service management. Belmont's search for an enterprise wide system started with the goal to handle complex billing and meter management processes for the utility as it progresses towards implementing improvements at the utility and enabling customer rate structures to provide customers with time of use rates and demand based rates. Braintree Electric Light Department recently selected to work with Cogsdale to implement and support a Financial and Work Order Management system. Braintree Electric Light Department supplies electric, internet and cable services to approximately 15,000 customers in the township of Braintree, MA. Braintree Electric Light Department held a selection process to look for a solution to provide a more integrated, flexible solution to handle operations processes across Finance, Work Management, Purchasing, and Human Resources. BELD wanted a solution that can handle the unique needs of electric utilities such as FERC accounting in addition to a progressive technology platform that users will adopt readily. Both official project kick-offs have been completed and the implementation will continue into 2010.
